I’m constantly inspired by the curiosity and intelligence of the young women I meet. On Sunday, December 6th, The WonderGirls hosted a docent-led tour of the exquisite Monet exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan before the museum opened to the public. We learned amazing things about the artist and his paintings, and also had time for sketching in the impressionist galleries.
I learned that taking a couple of hours out on a Sunday to spend time with our daughters is an invaluable experience. Seeing art through their eyes — priceless. As one of the moms said to me, “it’s so nice to have something to do with my daughter other than shopping!” Amen to that.
There will be many more WonderGirls Sundays. The next one will be on February 21st. It’s called “Life 101: Nurturing Your Best Self”.
Actress Kristen Johnston will share her unique and witty take on life with you.
Author Susan Shapiro Barash will talk about “toxic friendships”, the subject of her newest book.
Nutritionist Elissa Silver and expert organizer Jennifer Zwiebel will teach you new ways to be in charge of your life.
You’ll create a beautiful, personal vision board to remember the day and make you smile.
We think it’s a pretty original idea: Moms and daughters will attend the workshops separately, then come together to laugh with Kristen. You’ll both gain new insights into who you are and how you’d like to live your lives. The best part is that you’ll discover new ideas to share with each other.
You don’t have to live in New York City to be a WonderGirl. For now, our programs are only held here. No worries! Experience The WonderGirls just by checking in often. Learn about the fascinating things that our speakers and workshop leaders are doing. Get the scoop on the latest books to read. Link to cool things we think you’ll like. Be sure to leave some comments — we want to hear what matters to you!
